The Isarnixen (officially: Ladies Swimming Club Munich from 1903 Isarnixen eV ) are a swimming club from Munich .

The club was founded on July 1, 1903 by 16 women in the Wittelsbacher Garten in Munich as a women's swimming club. They were given the nickname "Isarnixen" in 1951 from the film producer Géza von Cziffra for the film The Veiled Maja , which made them internationally known in the swimming scene.

Käthe Jakobi (club chairwoman 1939 to 1974) drove with the Isarnixen in 1956 as the first German sports team to go to the USA after the Second World War . On her return she initiated the development of water ballet into today's sporty synchronized swimming in Germany and Europe. She received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for her commitment and was the first German to be inducted into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame. The legendary formation from back then still appears today under the name "Jubiläumsdamen".

Since 1957, the Isarnixen have swum more than 90 German championship titles, over 60 German youth championship titles, three Olympic participants and, in 1982, the European synchronized swimming champion with Christine Lang .
