Frank Rosin
Frank Rosin (born July 17, 1966 in Dorsten ) is a German chef , TV chef and restaurateur .
Career
Rosin, the son of a wholesaler for catering supplies and the operator of a snack stand , completed an apprenticeship as a chef in the Hotel Monopol in Gelsenkirchen and in the Kaiserau restaurant in Gelsenkirchen under Harald Schroer from 1982 to 1985 . Then he went on a journey, so he worked for a year as a journeyman and young chef in California and Spain. His first position as assistant chef ( sous-chef ) was on board the Sea Cloud , a four-masted sailing ship for luxury cruises.
Rosin has been self-employed with his restaurant Rosin since 1990 , first in Gelsenkirchen and later in his birthplace, Dorsten. In summer 2009 the restaurant Rosin in Dorsten-Wulfen was named Restaurant of the Year 2009 by the magazine Der Feinschmecker . Rosin describes himself as a "gourmet self-taught"; he "grew up without the direct influence of a top chef". The second head chef at Rosin is Oliver Engelke.
Rosin is a member of the Junge Wilde cooking association . His cuisine is described as regionally influenced, creative gourmet cuisine. In addition to his restaurant, Rosin also looked after the VIP area of FC Schalke 04 . On January 21, 2010 he became a member of the supervisory board of the former Bundesliga club SG Wattenscheid 09 , but resigned after a short time.
TV chef
Rosin has been in the television business since 2008 and joined a. in the reality TV cooking show Fast Food Duel for the first time. He is also the protagonist of the coaching format Rosins Restaurants broadcast on Kabel Eins - a star chef cleans up! . Between August 2010 and August 2013, he was a permanent juror in the ZDF broadcast, Topfgeldjäger , hosted by Steffen Henssler . In addition, Rosin has been a coach and juror in the Sat.1 chef casting show The Taste since 2013 . In 2014, he let celebrities compete against each other on the Sat.1 TV show Hell's Kitchen . In 2017 he worked as a voice actor for the animated film “Storks - Adventure on the Approach”.
Private life
Frank Rosin was married from 2006 to 2019 and has two daughters and a son. The marriage ended in divorce.
