Young savages
The term Junge Wilde originally referred to a group of young physicists from the 1920s and 30s who made a name for themselves in their efforts on quantum mechanics with new ways of thinking .
The term was later reinterpreted to include currents within painting of the late 1970s and early 80s and then to politicians. In the meantime, the term is used in all segments of society : When people or groups are mentioned that are about to displace the "established" ( sports , literature , theater , film , culinary arts , etc.), they are often referred to as "Young wild ones" called.

politics

The term was first coined by some mass media in connection with young CDU politicians who spoke out against personnel and power politics within the party and its then chairman Helmut Kohl (including Ronald Pofalla , Norbert Röttgen , Hermann Gröhe , Stefan Schwarz , Eckart von Klaeden , Peter Altmaier ). The term was later extended by the media to the other parties represented in the German Bundestag, such as the SPD and FDP , and applied to young politicians who propagated an opinion that deviated from the line of the party leadership.
In the years that followed, some of these politicians became prime ministers, ministers, or influential party officials at the state or federal level.
Sports
At the beginning of the 2000s, players from the VfB Stuttgart football team were known as “youngsters” , who attracted attention with the club in the UEFA Champions League . In the media at that time the term “Junge Wilde” was used as a synonym for the VfB Stuttgart team.
gastronomy
The Junge Wilden is an association of chefs founded in 1997. The aim of the association is to get people excited about cooking and to improve the profession of cook in society. The association of outstanding young chefs advocates young, fresh, avant-garde cooking and gastronomy concepts. The founders were the chefs Frank Buchholz , Christian Loisl, Manfred Heissig, Stefan Marquard , Achim Schwekendiek , Steffen Sonnenwald and Holger Stromberg . Current members include Stefan Manier , Frank Rosin and Bernd Siefert , Konrad Zacharias Wolfmiller and Holger Stromberg as the only founding member.
In addition, “Die Junge Wilde” are chefs who have been named “Junge Wilde” by the gastronomy magazine Rolling Pin together with Stefan Marquard. In 2018, the title was awarded for the 14th time, to the 28-year-old Austrian chef Roland Pieber.
