Isfahan's Elle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Isfahan cubit was named after the Isfahan region , a Persian measure of length and, including the canonical cubit, was one of the most important measures. 1681 this had Elle von Sparr de Homberg measured a length of 81.63 centimeters , about 1 3 / 16 Aunes d'Holland. Due to the identity of the canonical yardstick (zar'-e šar 'ī) with the Arabic (aḏ-ḏirā' aš-šar'iyya) canonical yardstick or the simple "post" -elle (ḏirā 'al-barīd) and the Egyptian " Hand “-elle (ḏirā 'al-yad) the length of a zar'-e šar' ī can be put at 49.875 centimeters.

  • 1 Ishafaner Elle zar' = 1-e Isfahan = 8 / 5 zar' Šar-e 'i (canonical Elle) = 79.8 cm
  • 7,500 Ishafan cubits = 12,000 canonical cubits corresponds to 1 parasang
