Isis is a scientific journal for the history of natural science . It appears quarterly and is published by the University of Chicago .

Isis publishes articles on the history of the natural sciences, medicine and technology and their cultural and historical significance. It was founded in 1912 by George Sarton and is the oldest English-language magazine in this field.

In addition to four regular editions, a volume of the bibliography of current books, reviews and magazine articles in the subject area appears annually.

Isis is also the official journal of the History of Science Society (HSS). The editor has been H. Floris Cohen in Utrecht since 2017. The magazine is financially supported by the Dibner Fund (Dibner Fund) .
