Iskolat

Iskolat (from Russian: Ис полнительный ко митет Совета рабочих, солдатских и безземельных, депутатов Лат витатов Лат вии, ​​19-17, the workers' councils and councils of Latvia were the exporters in 1917/18.

The committee was formed during the First World War after the February Revolution of 1917 on the initiative of the Latvian Social Democratic Party or the Bolsheviks in the part of Latvia not occupied by Germany. When the front line receded , the seat of the committee was first Riga , then Cēsis and still later Valka . It gradually took over the executive power in the territory of Northeast Latvia and ousted or dissolved the institutions of the Russian Provisional Government . The advance of the German army in February 1918 ended the rule of the Bolshevik Iskolat government.
