The Isla Zacate Grande is an extinct stratovolcano in Honduras , the only ten kilometers, now a seven km island forms and seven surrounding islands.
The island belongs to the municipality of Amapala in the department of Valle .
Seven of the 13 aldeas (about localities or districts) of the municipality of Amapala, which has its seat on the island of El Tigre , 1.8 km further south, belong to the island . These are further subdivided into 27 caserios . The aldeas of the island (with population according to the 2001 census):
