Islamic painting

In art history , the term Islamic painting generally refers to the painting of peoples shaped by Islamic culture and is mainly used for book illumination .

In the narrower sense of religious Islamic art , it can mean paintings in religious contexts or with religious content.

The wall paintings are so-called Hajj paintings, which have the pilgrimage to Mecca as their theme.
