Islamic Center Cologne

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Islamic Center Cologne eV (IZK) was an Islamic organization based in Cologne .

The association was founded on September 21, 1978 under the chairmanship of Muhammad Rassoul in Cologne (Cologne VR 7677). According to the register of associations, it was dissolved on October 8, 2001.

Connections to "Milli Görüş" (IGMG)

For a long time the IZK had its seat in the premises of the “ Islamic Union Europe eV ”. Leading people from the former AMGT , such as Osman Yumakogullari and Akgün Erbakan, Necmettin Erbakan's brother , temporarily held board positions in the IZK.

Connections to the "Islamic Community in Germany" (IGD)

There were other connections between the IZK and the Islamic Community in Germany (IGD). In the version of its statutes of November 15, 1980, the IZK favored the IGD in the event of dissolution (Section 7 (2)). Later, a sign on the wall of his house identified the IZK as a branch of the IGD. Members of the IGD belonged to the IZK and vice versa. At times the same people held board positions in both clubs, including Ibrahim El-Zayat .
