Ismaël Isaac , born Issiaka Kaba Diakité (* 1966 in Abidjan ) is a reggae singer from Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire). His parents come from the town of Ponodougou in the Département de Boundiali . He sings his songs in the languages Mandinka , Malenké , Bambara , Dioula and French .

The death of the most famous reggae interpreter Bob Marley motivated 15-year-old Issiaka Diakité to pursue a reggae career himself. He was driven by the older Alpha Blondy , who also grew up in Treichville , a neighborhood in Abidjan. After minor appearances on Ivorian radio and television and only with his belief in his talent, he first became a member of Les Fréres Keita in 1986 , with whom he recorded three albums.

In 1990 he recorded his first solo album Rahman under the name Ismaël Isaac and achieved great success throughout West Africa . Three other albums were recorded and a compilation of older singles. The album Black System recorded in 2000 with its roots reggae also achieved international success. Since then, Ismaël Isaac has been listed among Alpha Blondy , Lucky Dube and Tiken Jah Fakoly .
