Isolate Records is a record label for electronic music based in Berkeley , California . It was founded in 1995 by Wai Cheng.

Isolate has a sub-label called Dyslexic Response that focuses on the music genre of noise . The best-known acts that Isolate Records released include Venetian Snares , Chris Douglas aka OST, Tomoroh Hidari and Fluorescent Gray .

Label founder Wai died in 2006 while visiting Berlin. He was found dead by a friend on the night of December 21st. The cause of death is unknown.
