electrical tape

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Green-yellow insulating tape is only permitted for protective conductors , equipotential bonding and earthing .

Insulating tape is an electrically insulating adhesive tape , mostly on the basis of PVC , which bears a test mark of the VDE or a comparable standardization organization .

Insulating tape is available in different colors and is mainly used to mark lines and connections. Since it is not electrically conductive , it does not affect existing insulation. It is not intended for temporary insulation and is not suitable for lack of mechanical strength. The insulation of electrical lines ( emplastrification ) can instead be made with appropriately tested shrink tubing .
