István Horkay

István Horkay (born December 25, 1945 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian artist.

biography

After graduating from the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest in 1964, Horkay was invited to attend the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow , Poland, the most important arts and cultural center in Eastern Europe, where he obtained his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) received. He continued his studies in 1968 at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen and in 1971 completed a graduate school at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. Horkay studied with the internationally known artist and theater director Tadeusz Kantor and with M. Wejman, J. Nowosielski and Palle Nielsen, Denmark. He has degrees in graphic arts, painting and film animation.
