Iván Calderón
Iván Calderón (* 7. January 1975 in Guaynabo , Puerto Rico ) is a former Puerto Rican boxer in Halbfliegen- and straw weight .
Professional career
In 2001 he successfully began his professional career. On November 22, 2002 he boxed in the straw weight against Lee Sandoval for the world championship title of the association WBO and won on points. He defended this belt a total of 11 times and held it until September 2007.
On August 25, 2007, he was also WBO light flyweight world champion when he defeated Lee Sandoval by split judge decision. After six successful title defenses, Calderón lost the belt at the end of 2010 in the title unification fight to the WBO champion Giovanni Segura by classic knockout in round 8.
In 2012 he ended his career.
