Iván Zulueta

Iván Zulueta (born September 29, 1943 in Donostia-San Sebastián , † December 30, 2009 ibid), whose real name was Juan Ricardo Miguel Zulueta Vergarajauregui , was a Spanish film director.

Works

He mainly shot short films, although one of his two full-length feature films “Arrebato” (Fit) from 1979, which is about a filmmaker in a delusional crisis, achieved cult status in Spain.

Zulueta also made a name for himself as a designer, photographer and painter of movie posters. In the 1980s he withdrew for a long period of time for withdrawal therapy because of his heroin addiction. He later worked for television.

He died of a lung disease in his Basque hometown of San Sebastián at the age of 66.
