Iver hand

Iver Hand (* 1941) is a German physician and expert on anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders .

Live and act

Iver Hand studied medicine at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel , the University of Vienna , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Hamburg . With a grant from the German Research Foundation, he completed behavior therapy training in London and Montreal from 1971 to 1974. He then founded and headed the behavior therapy department at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) and worked as a professor for clinical psychology at Hamburg University. From 1984 to 2008 he headed a treatment project at UKE for people with problematic or pathological gambling behavior . From 2008 he continued this focus at the Center for Behavioral Therapy in Falkenried.

Iver Hand founded the magazine Behavior Therapy with Hans-Ulrich Wittchen . He is one of the founders and honorary chairman of the German Society for Obsessive Compulsive Diseases .
