Izy (brand)
Izy is a Thalys International brand . Trains have been running between Paris-Nord and Bruxelles-Midi / Brussel-Zuid under this brand since 2016 .
concept
The concept is based on the idea of low-cost airlines (for example Ryanair or Easyjet ) and may be used. a. implemented as follows:
- For the most part, the trains do not use high-speed lines . The LGV Nord is not used. In this way, high train path prices can be avoided. However, this sometimes increases the travel time by over an hour to up to two hours and thirty minutes.
- There is no on-board restaurant or bistro on the trains.
- The ticket price only includes one piece of luggage that is limited in size and weight.
- Only a minimum number of employees are used on the trains.
Prices
A special feature is the sale of folding seats in the entrance area of the trains. Here, reduced comfort has to be expected for the price from 10 €. A standard seat is available from 19 €. XL seats are available from € 29. With comfort features such as an increased seat spacing, they should offer greater comfort.
