Jörg Failmezger
Jörg Failmezger (* 1947 in Ludwigsburg-Hoheneck ) is a German sculptor whose works are mainly made of stone.
Life
In 1965 Failmezger received a journeyman's certificate as a stone sculptor and became a national winner. Between 1967 and 1970 Failmezger studied in Lucerne at the School of Design with A. Egloff. In 1972 he obtained his master craftsman's certificate as a stone sculptor in Munich. Jörg Failmezger has been working as a freelance sculptor in Pleidelsheim since 1975 .
Failmezger is mainly active in the areas of tomb culture, free art and design in public, private and commercial space. As an artist and stonemason, he continues the Failmezger stonemason workshop, which has existed in Pleidelsheim since 1873. Failmezger was head master of the stone sculpting guild Ludwigsburg - Böblingen - Rems-Murr for 10 years until 2015, he is a member of the Association of Visual Artists Württemberg eV (VBKW) and the Association of Freelance Sculptors (BfB).
In 1978 he received the Prize for Art and Architecture from the Junior Group in Goslar. The Federal Guild Association awarded him the design award in 1986; In 2002 he received the Stone Innovative , Preserve Traces of Life and Design Living Spaces awards . He received a gravestone design award from the Baden-Württemberg State Association in 2005.
