Jörg Knippenberg (born November 6, 1959 ) is a former German ice hockey goalkeeper .

Career

The goalkeeper Jörg Knippenberg was a member of the Berlin ice skating club in the Bundesliga from 1977 and made 19 appearances in the top German division in the 1979/80 season. In the 1980/81 season Knippenberg played for local rivals BFC Prussia in the Oberliga Nord before returning to the skating club and again 39 Bundesliga and two play-off games in the 1981/82 season. At the end of the season, the Berliners had to withdraw from the Bundesliga for financial reasons.

Jörg Knippenberg returned to the upper division BFC Preußen and made it to the 2nd Bundesliga North with his team. He played in the 1985/86 season and from 1989 to 1991 for the 1b team of the BSC Prussia in the Regionalliga Nord and in the 1987/88 season for the upper division Herford EG .
