Jörg Thomas Engelbert

Jörg Thomas Engelbert (born November 25, 1961 in Potsdam ) is a German historian and Southeast Asian scholar , particularly a Vietnamist .

Life

From 1982 to 1987 he studied Vietnam Studies and History at the Institute for Asian Studies at Humboldt University . After receiving his doctorate in 1990 and his habilitation in 2000, he has been teaching as professor for Vietnamese language and culture at the University of Hamburg since October 1, 2002 .
