Jörn Lamla

Jörn Lamla (* 1969 in Bad Pyrmont ) is a German sociologist and university professor. He is best known for his research on digital transformation and consumer protection .

Career

Lamla first studied political science, mathematics, psychology and education at the Philipps University in Marburg . From 1995 to 2002 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . In 2000 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on the social policy of the Greens: Political shaping between power and morality. Case reconstruction of green reform potentials for the institutionalization of a socially just, sustainable and civil society . From 2002 to 2009 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . From 2007 to 2009 he represented the professorship for general sociology at the University of Giessen . From 2009 to 2013 he was an academic advisor at the chair for general and theoretical sociology at the University of Jena. In 2011, he held a substitute professorship at the same chair. Lamla completed his habilitation in 2012 . From 2011 to 2013 he represented the professorship for sociological theory at the University of Kassel . From 2011 to 2014 Lamla was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Consumer and Nutrition Policy at the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection .

Lamla has been a full professor for sociological theory at the University of Kassel since 2013 . In 2015 he visited the Center for Ethics at the University of Toronto as a visiting professor .

Lamla has been the director of the Scientific Center for Information Technology Design at the University of Kassel since 2015 . Since 2015 he has also been a member of the coordination committee of the consumer research network at the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection . Since 2016 he has been dean of the social sciences department at the University of Kassel.
