Jörn Müller (chemist)

Jörn Müller (* 1936 in Küstrin ) is a German chemist who has primarily dealt with analytical chemistry , mass spectrometry and organometallic chemistry .

Live and act

Müller studied chemistry first at the TU Berlin and then at the LMU Munich and received his doctorate on organometallic chemistry under Ernst Otto Fischer in 1964 . He completed a post-doctoral period at L. D'Or in Liège, where he familiarized himself with mass spectrometry. For his habilitation (1969 at the LMU Munich) he combined both research areas, which he later pursued as a professor at the TU Berlin. In 1975 he was appointed full professor for analytical chemistry at the TU Berlin. In 2004 he retired . Since 2013 he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the News from Chemistry , the journal of the Society of German Chemists . For the "Senior Chemistry Experts" he coordinates the "Pros and Cons" series of articles for the "Nachrichten".
