Jewish cemetery in Biskirchen

The Jewish cemetery in Biskirchen , a district of Leun in the Lahn-Dill district in Hesse , was probably laid out in the 19th century. The Jewish cemetery on Bissenberger Straße is a protected cultural monument .

“Originally, the Jews were buried in a cemetery 'Auf der alten Lahn' between the railway line and the main street. On the occasion of the planned construction of the bypass road in 1936, the graves were reburied in the new cemetery on Bissenberger Strasse in accordance with an agreement with the Jewish community. After the subsequent desecration, this complex was restored after 1945. The small area lined with conifers has a few gravestones with Hebrew-German inscriptions from the 20th century. "
