The Jewish cemetery Laer is located in the municipality of Laer in the Steinfurt district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Two tombstones have been preserved on the Jewish cemetery , which is part of the communal cemetery at the fork in the road Horstmar - Burgsteinfurt .

history

The cemetery was occupied from 1925 to 1937. Only four funerals were performed.

Old Jewish Cemetery

In the cemetery south of today's Borghorster Str. 6, which was occupied from 1829 to the middle of the 19th century, there are no more gravestones.

New Jewish cemetery

There are no more tombstones at the Horstmarer Straße cemetery (at the level of the junction to Burgsteinfurt), which was occupied from 1845 to 1923. In 1950 the cemetery, which was probably devastated in 1938, was leveled and planted with lawn. A memorial stone has existed since the mid-1970s .
