Jülich Aachen Research Alliance
The Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (abbr .: JARA ) is an organization of the RWTH Aachen University and the Forschungszentrum Jülich , which is not an independent legal person and serves primarily for joint research. JARA was founded in 2007.
tasks
One of the most important tasks is the realization of research projects that the partners could not implement on their own. In addition, z. B. also worked together in the areas of education and the use of scientific infrastructure.
Research work
At present (October 2015) the scientific work covers six areas:
- JARA ENERGY provides research on the topic of sustainable energy .
- JARA BRAIN covers the field of brain research and neuroscience .
- JARA FIT for the field of information technology .
- JARA HPC - High Performance Computing .
- JARA FAME - Forces and Matter Experiments (founded in January 2013). The section deals with basic physical research in the field of nuclear and particle physics and is intended to contribute to the investigation of matter - antimatter asymmetry in the universe.
- JARA SOFT - Soft Matter Science
