Younger Castle or Dietrichsburg is the name of a lost moated castle in the municipality of Nettersheim , Euskirchen district , North Rhine-Westphalia .
After a division of the estate in 1561, the castle served as a residence for Dietrich Krümmel von Nettersheim . It was a two-part system that was surrounded by moats . In 1794 the castle came into French ownership and was sold into civil hands in 1813. A water mill was installed in the building. Today it has been converted into a residential house (called Haus Burgmühle), but is still recognizable as a mill building, e.g. B. by a standing at ground level basement, due to the former water level. The mill fixtures were removed in the middle of the 20th century.
The function as a castle can still be seen, alone be recognized that some of the stone walls of limestone over 1 m thick.
