Jürgen Becher is a former German basketball player .

career

In 1975, Becher moved from the youth to the basketball Bundesliga team of 1. FC Bamberg . In 1979 he had to accept relegation from the first division with Upper Franconia. In the second division season 1979/80 mug was with 271 points behind the American Kennith Sweet the second best Bamberg scorer . In 1982, as the team's third-best points collector, he contributed to Bamberg's return to the Bundesliga. In the 1982/83 season he was again relegated from the Bundesliga with Bamberg, only to return to the top division in 1984. The year of promotion was Becher's last season in the Bamberg men's team.

From 1995 to 1997, he and Jochen Hirmke formed the coaching team at FC Baunach (then Oberliga).
