Jürgen Borcherdt

Jürgen Borcherdt (born April 24, 1870 in Uetersen ; † May 13, 1956 there ) was a Low German comedy and antics author and writer .

Life

He was born in Uetersen and attended school there. He then did an apprenticeship as a cooper and then became a professional soldier for twelve years and served in the artillery in Rendsburg . After completing his military service, he was taken on as a post office clerk and worked for a short time in Mainz. In 1902 Borcherdt returned to Uetersen and retired as postal inspector in 1935. Jürgen Borcherdt died on May 13, 1956 in his apartment in Uetersen. His Low German works are still performed today on German amateur theaters.
