Jürgen Max Gottfried Petzold (born April 4, 1953 in Auerbach / Vogtl. ) Is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1999 to 2014 he was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

Jürgen Petzold was born in the district of Brunn in the Vogtland district town of Auerbach. After graduating from high school, he studied business administration and graduated with a degree in business administration. Until 1990 he worked in various companies and for the city of Auerbach. From 1990 to 1992 he was Head of Sales and Logistics at Londa GmbH Rothenkirchen and from 1992 to 1999 Office Manager for Economic Development and Real Estate at the city of Auerbach.

Jürgen Petzold joined the GDR CDU in 1971 . From 1999 to 2007 he was chairman of the CDU city association of Auerbach and was deputy district chairman from 1996 to 1998. After the reunification he became active in local politics and was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group of the Auerbach city council from 1990 to 1992.

Since October 1999 he was a directly elected member of the Saxon State Parliament for the constituency Vogtland 2 and there in the 4th electoral period (2004–2009) in the Committee for Economy, Labor, Technology and Tourism as well as in the Committee for Science, Art, Culture and Media. In the 5th electoral term (2009 to 2014) he was chairman of the committee for economy, labor and transport, as well as a member of the interior committee.

In the state elections in 2014 , he decided not to run again.
