Jürgen Schröder (born March 6, 1940 in Grünberg ) is a former German rower . In 1964 he was second in the eighth place in the Olympic Games .

The rower from the Ratzeburg rowing club belonged to the Germany eight trained by Karl Adam in 1964 and 1965 . In 1964 he won the title at the German Championships and the European Championships in Amsterdam. At the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, the German eighth won his preliminary run ahead of the boats from the USA, Italy and Yugoslavia, while the boats from Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union won the other two preliminary runs. The boat from the USA, as well as the Italians and the Yugoslavs, also reached the finals via the hope races. While the Germans had beaten the boat from the USA by 28 hundredths of a second in the lead-up, the Americans distanced the Germans by five seconds in the final, behind the USA and Germany the boat from Czechoslovakia won the bronze medal. In 1965 the Ratzeburg eighth won again at the German championships and defended the European title in Duisburg.

Jürgen Schröder has a doctorate in law. Until 1972 he was Willi Daume's personal secretary at the organizing committee for the 1972 Olympic Games. Schröder later headed an agency in Munich and until 1998 was the marketing officer of the German Rowing Association.
