Journal of Chemical Education

The Journal of Chemical Education is a monthly scientific journal that is published in both printed and electronic form. The editor (Division of Chemical Education of the American Chemical Society ) was founded in 1924. The journal publishes the latest research results in the field of chemistry and is not only counted among the most important scientific journals in America.

The impact factor in 2014 was 1.106. According to the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge , the journal with this impact factor ranks 103rd out of 157 journals in the multidisciplinary chemistry category and 18th out of 37 journals in the educational sciences category.

The journal also published many articles on the history of chemistry. The book Discovery of the Elements by Mary Elvira Weeks is based on articles in the Journal in the 1930s and the chemical historian Aaron J. Ihde published chemical history articles from the Journal in book form.
