The J. Kauffmann Jewish book publishing and book distribution in Frankfurt in 1850 by Isaac Kauffmann founded.

history

The company flourished for the first time under Ignatz Kauffmann (1849–1913), the son of the publisher's founder. The works of the pioneers of the science of Judaism appeared there : Abraham Berliner , Abraham Geiger , David Kaufmann , Moritz Steinschneider and Leopold Zunz .

Ignatz's son, David Kauffmann , took over the management of the publishing house in 1909. The focus of the publishing program remained the modern science of Judaism as well as books on Jewish art and music. From 1933 until the publisher's forcible dissolution in 1938, 27 titles were published.
