JT Touristik is a German tour operator based in Berlin and a brand of Lidl Digital International GmbH & Co. KG.

history

JT Touristik was founded in 2009 by the native Iranian Jasmin Taylor in Berlin. From 2009 to 2017 JT Touristik was a registered GmbH based in Berlin. As a tour operator with a full range of products, JT Touristik sold around 15,000 hotels in 150 destinations worldwide. In 2016, 346,000 people traveled with JT Touristik.

On Friday, September 29, 2017, the tour operator JT Touristik filed an application to open insolvency proceedings. According to the official press release of JT Touristik GmbH, the tour operator had to file for bankruptcy because the contract with the previous insurer of the package tours offered, Generali Versicherungen , had been terminated by the insurance company and no new insurer was found so far. Generali Versicherungen is withdrawing completely from the business field “Insolvency insurance for tour operators”. The bankruptcy proceedings were opened in January 2018.

In December 2017, the Lidl Digital International & Co. KG group bought the insolvent tour operator. After approval by the cartel authorities in January 2018, JT Touristik is a brand of Lidl Digital International GmbH & Co. KG.

JT Touristik's global offering continues to include dynamically packaged last-minute and package tours as well as hotel specials for more than 15,000 hotels and around 150 destinations. In addition, the company offers a wide range of city trips worldwide. JT Touristik is represented with its offers on a variety of travel portals as well as in travel agencies.

JT Touristik is a member of the German Travel Association (DRV) and a member of the Association for the Promotion of an Open Touristic Data Standard ( OTDS ).

JT Touristik specializes in travel to the United Arab Emirates , in particular Dubai and Abu Dhabi . Overall, the offer includes package tours , last-minute trips and city ​​trips in 150 destinations, among others. a. to Spain, Greece, Italy, Egypt and the Indian Ocean.
