Jacek Grudzień

Jacek Grudzień (born February 7, 1961 in Warsaw ) is a Polish composer.

Life

Grudzień studied composition with Włodzimierz Kotoński and piano improvisation with Szabolcs Esztényi at the Warsaw Academy of Music. He took part in international courses for young composers in Kazimierz Dolny , Darmstadt, Patras and Dartington . With a scholarship donated by Witold Lutosławski , he studied electronic music and MIDI systems in London in 1986 .

Grudzień made his debut as a composer at the Warsaw Autumn 1983. In 1988 he won second prize in the Young Composers 'Competition of the Polish Composers' Union. He worked with the Experimental Studio of the Polish Radio and composed not only chamber music and electroacoustic works but also film and drama music.
