Jacob Höhne (* 1979 in East Berlin ) has been artistic director and managing director of the inclusive Berlin RambaZamba Theater since the beginning of the 2017/18 season .

Life

He has worked as a musician for the Berliner Ensemble and the RambaZamba Theater since 1997 . There followed directing internships u. a. at the Volksbühne Berlin and the Ulm Theater , as well as studying directing at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg . During his work in Salzburg he received the City of Salzburg Prize for his expert play “Die Winterreise” (2013). He then directed for the Goethe Institute in Spain and at the State Theater in Omsk, Siberia.

In 2014 Jacob Höhne directed “Philoktet” based on Sophokles (premiere at the Berliner Ensemble) at the RambaZamba Theater and in 2015 with Beckett's “Endspiel”, which was invited to the Berliner Ensemble and Poznań. In 2017 his productions "König UBU featuring Craque", freely based on Alfred Jarry, and the dance theater "Schwestern" based on Anton Chekhov premiered. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season he took over the management of the house from Gisela Höhne and staged Schiller's “The Robbers” at the opening of the season; In 2018 the two productions "Pension Schöller" based on Wilhelm Jacoby and Carl Laufs and "Moby Dick" based on Herman Melville followed.
