Jacqueline Mary Jossa (born October 29, 1992 in London-Bexley ) is a British actress , best known for the role of Lauren Branning in the British soap opera EastEnders . Her role won her Best Newcomer Award at the 2012 National Television Awards .

life and career

Jossa grew up in Bexleyheath, London, as the youngest of four siblings. She took acting classes at the D&B Theater School in Bromley .

When it became clear in 2010 that Madeline Duggan, who had previously played the role of Lauren Branning on EastEnders , was leaving the show, a replacement had to be found as soon as possible. Jossa was successfully cast for the role in the same year and took over the role from then on.

Jossa is currently in a relationship with Dan Osborne , with whom she had their first child in February 2015. In June 2015, they got engaged to each other. Two years later, in July 2017, Osborne and Jossa married.

Awards

Jossa was nominated as "Best Newcomer" at the British TV Choice Awards in 2011 , but lost to Paula Lane. On January 25, 2012 she won the National Television Awards in the “Best Newcomer” category. In the same year she was nominated as "Sexiest Female" at the British Soap Awards .
