Jacques Sauval

Jacques R. Sauval is a former Uruguayan tennis player .

Jacques Sauval competed with the Uruguayan team at the Copa Miter 1940 in both singles and doubles on the side of Carlos Rymer and Volker Stapff . In the first round, Uruguay beat the Paraguayan team 4-1. In the semi-finals, the Uruguayans were defeated by the Chileans 0-5. Sauval reached the quarter-finals in the singles of the International Uruguayan Championships in 1945 at the Estadio Millington Drake in Carrasco and was defeated there by the later tournament winner Heraldo Weiss from Argentina in two sets with 6: 1 and 6: 2. In 1950 he was again a member of the Uruguayan tennis team that lost 3-2 to Argentina at the Copa Miter that year in the semi-finals. However, he was only used in doubles with partner Oscar Lizarralde . He was also part of the Uruguayan squad at the 1951 Pan American Games in Buenos Aires .
