Jacques de Via
Jacques de Via (* in Cahors ; † June 13, 1317 in Avignon ) was a cardinal of the Roman Church .
Life
The nephew of Pope John XXII. was canon of the cathedral chapter of Frejus from about 1303 and later archdeacon of the diocese of Mende .
On February 20, 1313 he succeeded his uncle as Bishop of Avignon and on December 17, 1316 became a cardinal priest with the titular church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo .
He died in 1317 and was buried in Avignon Cathedral.
His brother Arnaud de Via also became a cardinal in 1317.
