The Jagdhaus Schellenberg is a historic building on the Ruhr heights in the Heisingen district of Essen .

history

The half-timbered house was built in 1836 by the landowner and owner of Schellenberg Castle , the von Vittinghoff-Schell family , as a house for the forest workers . Later, the “Schöne Aussicht” coffee shop was established there. Today the restaurant is known as "Jagdhaus Schellenberg".

The building was enlarged several times. The Essen-based HOPF Group has owned the building since 1999, and had it gutted and modernized between 2000 and 2001. Among other things, a winter garden was created. The beer garden offers a view of Lake Baldeney . The house is surrounded by forest and hiking trails. The Korte cliff and the Neue Isenburg ruins are nearby .
