Year level test
Year level tests are a test form at schools in Bavaria . They are usually assessed with an oral grade, as well as an impromptu task. These tests are scheduled at the beginning of the school year after the summer vacation.
At the beginning of the school year, central grade tests are held in grades 6, 8 and 10 of the Bavarian grammar school by the State Institute for School Quality and Educational Research (ISB). These should provide information on specific weaknesses and strengths of the pupils or schools. The Bavaria-wide grade point average is regularly between 3 and 4.
In the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades in Bavarian secondary schools there are also regular grade tests in German, English and mathematics.
