Jakob Zeiser (* 1820 ; † 1887 ) was a German bookseller and publisher from Nuremberg .

Life

After Jakob Zeiser learned the book trade from Tobias Dannheimer in Kempten in the Allgäu, he founded his own bookstore in Nuremberg in 1856. Jakob Zeiser also worked as a publisher for regional literature. Zeiser laid z. B. the " History of the City of Nuremberg " by Johann Paul Priem , the curator of the city ​​library of Nuremberg and the city archive. With the help of Georg Karl Frommann , Zeiser published poems by Johann Carl Meißner (1783–1861).

Zeiser's bookstore remained in the family's possession and was continued by the sons Ferdinand and Heinrich and finally by the grandson Theodor Zeiser.
