Jakobskirche (Klopein)

The Jakobskirche is slightly elevated on the southern outskirts of Klopein in the municipality of Sankt Kanzian am Klopeiner See . It is a branch church of the Roman Catholic parish of St. Kanzian and belongs to the diocese of Gurk within the Eberndorf / Dobrla vas deanery .

description

The church, first mentioned in documents in 1454, is a small, Gothic building with a roof turret and a wooden porch. On the north side there is a late Gothic fresco of St. Christopher .

The nave has a flat ceiling with stencil painting . The slightly retracted choir with five-eighth closure has a ribbed vault from the 14th century.

The three baroque altars date from the middle of the 19th century. A painting of the Coronation of Mary from 1659 hangs on the north wall .
