Kuba Sienkiewicz (aka Jakub Sienkiewicz ; born November 24, 1961 in Warsaw ) is a Polish rock musician, singer-songwriter, composer, author and neurologist.

Sienkiewicz and his friend Piotr Łojek founded a music group in 1977 called SPIARDL ( Stowarzyszenie Piosenkarzy i Artystów Robotniczych Działaczy Ludowych , for example: Association of Singers and Artists of Worker Activists ), which only performed underground. Songs like Dziki (1978) by Łojek, the oldest song by Elektryczne Gitary , Tatusia (1979), Piosenka polityczna and Trzecia Macocha by Sienkiewicz and Głowy Lenina (1982) date from this time . In the 1980s, Mirosław Jędras joined the group that was now called Zuch Kozioł . At this time, Kuba Sienkiewicz also appeared as a solo guitarist in Andrzej Zeńczewski's band Independence of Triangles and Jacek Kleyff's Na Zdrowie Orchestra, as well as in student strikes and in private apartments as part of his involvement in the Independent Student Association.

In 1987 he founded the band Miasto with Krzysztof Bień , Piotr Łojek and others , which existed until 1989 and became known with songs like Widmo and Człowiek z liściem . Since 1990 he has been a member of the band Elektryczne Gitary , founded by Rafał Kwaśniewski , with whom he gave concerts and recorded. Under his real name Jakub Sienkiewicz, he also worked with musicians such as Jacek Wąsowski and Zbigniew Łapiński . He recorded five studio albums, composed and arranged several film scores, and took on roles in two films by Olaf Lubaszenko .

Two books with his lyrics - Kuba Sienkiewicz - Jestem z drowy and Jakub Sienkiewicz - Piosenki - were published in 1994 and 2004, respectively. The film A ty co? Was made in 1994 in collaboration with the director Mirosław Dembiński . who used songs by the Elektryczne Gitary ( Przewróciło się , Żądze , Koniec , A ty co , Dzieci wybiegły , Cyrk , Nie wiem co to sen , Basen i my ) and received the special award Człowiek w zagrożeniu (People in danger) at the Łódź media festival . In the field of music cabaret, Sienkiewicz worked with Marek Majewskis Śmietanka Łowicka and Scena Kabaretowa . He has appeared several times at the international songwriter festival OPPA . He has published as a columnist in the magazines Character , Sukces , Muza and Primum homo . From 2002 to 2006 he was Vice President of the Program Council of the radio station Radio dla Ciebie . On October 2, 2010 he performed on the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Independent Student Union with the Elektryczne Gitary. In 2013 he was awarded the bronze Gloria Artis Medal for cultural merit .

In addition, Sienkiewicz was always active as a doctor. After graduating from the Warsaw Medical Academy in 1986, he specialized in neurology. In 1995 he received his doctorate with a thesis on Parkinson's disease ; his mentor was Hubert Kwieciński . He works as an assistant in the Neurological Department of the Warsaw Medical University and has published a guide for people with Parkinson's disease ( Poradnika dla osób z chorobą Parkinsona ).
