Jam track

Jam track (derived from jam session and soundtrack (track)) describes a musical arrangement of accompanying instruments that form a background over which a solo musician can improvise or practice improvisations on his own. A jam track is often based on musical standards such as the blues scheme or known jazz chord connections.
