The Jamaica Badminton Association (JBA) is the top national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in Jamaica .

history

In 1927, badminton was first played in Jamaica by Alan Ritchie at 62 Arnold Road in Kingston and his four children. The Jamaica Badminton Association was founded in 1937 and became a member of the IBF in March 1954 . In 1976 the association became a founding member of the continental umbrella organization Badminton Pan Am , then still operating under the name Pan American Badminton Confederation . National championships have been held since 1937. The headquarters of the association is in Kingston . The association is a member of the National Olympic Committee.
