Jamaica Stock Exchange

The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) is the most important stock exchange in Jamaica . The JSE was founded in 1968 and opened in 1969 in Kingston , the capital of Jamaica. The four founding members were Willard Samms, Raglan S. Golding, Edward E. Gayle, and Anthony Lloyd.

The exchange was originally known as the Kingston Stock Exchange. It began trading on Monday, February 3, 1969. He was limited to brokers acting as both agents and principals. In 1989, JSE opened a subsidiary, Jamaica Central Securities Depository (JCSD), to facilitate electronic transfer and settlement of securities. The offer was later expanded to include a register, transfer and paying agent.

On January 18, 2019, Bloomberg Businessweek named JSE the world's best stock exchange.
