James Herndon

James Neil Herndon (born May 16, 1952 in Oklahoma City , Oklahoma , USA ) is an American media psychologist .

His behavioral prediction strategy , Affective Encryption Analysis , has generated some controversy. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Arizona State University in 1988 . Affective Encryption Analysis was recently used to predict the outcome of the 2008 US presidential election. This research instrument was also used to forecast future trends relating to anti-Semitism . He defines media psychology as "the use of research-based media to change behavior".
