Jamia Millia Islamia ("National Islamic University") in New Delhi , India, is an institution originally founded in 1920 at Aligarh in the United Provinces . In 1988 it became a Central University ("Central University") by ordinance of the Indian Parliament . In Urdu, Jamia means "university" and Millia means "national".
