Appear

Jan Maat was published from 1954 to 1955 with the subtitles The Funny Sailor and The Funny Seafarer, initially as a monochrome booklet with 36 pages in hummingbird format. From 1955 to 1958, Jan Maat appeared in magazine form, initially in landscape format, initially 20 pages, later 32 pages and the temporary subtitle The popular youth magazine . Issue 56 changed from single- color to four-color printing . Issues 10 to 31 of the series were reissued with new numbering in 1959 and 1960 by Walter Lehning Verlag . A complete reprint of the booklets in Kolibri format was published by Norbert Hethke Verlag in 1989 and 1990. Reprints of the horizontal format books were also published by Norbert Hethke Verlag in 2002 and 2003. Before Lehning brought out Jan Maat , the comic was published by Richard Danehl's Verlag in 1952 and 1953 under the title Hein Mück, the funny sailor . Due to unanswered questions about fees, Heinz changed the publisher.
