Funny

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Funny (English for "funny") is a generic term used in the German-speaking area for humorous comics that can have slapstick elements and gags , that is, funny, comical picture stories . An adventure comic with a funny part is called semi-funny . A story with strange alienation and animals as protagonists is called a Funny Animal Comic .

Many works by draftsmen at the École Marcinelle are referred to as Funnys. Examples of funnies are Mickey Mouse , Fix and Foxi and Asterix .

In English-speaking countries, the term “the funnies” is used as an abbreviation for the colloquial term “the funny papers” for comic strips (in English also cartoon strips ). After the term “comic” lost the element of the “ comic ” in the 1930s, the caricature and humorous varieties have since been referred to as “funny” or “funny comic”.
